Indoor-Outdoor Totem in Shou Sugi Ban and Linseed Oil finish, will be made-to-order. Totem pictured in actually Totem #78, sold to client in Brooklyn. Custom indoor-outdoor base in 3/4” x 12” x 12” A36 Steel Plate (30 lbs). Totem stands roughly 76” tall.
Carved construction, including use of power and hand saws and grinders. Rounded blocks include some form of laminated construction. Sanded then treated with live flame. The Shou Sugi Ban treatment and Linseed Oil finish ensure weatherproof lifespan. Totems deemed for outdoor display will also include a very effective coat of Fine Paints of Europe Marine Varnish in a matte finish. Totem is easily assembled and secured through use of fixed 1/2” threaded rod and galvanized bolts and washers. This type of construction offers an easy and absolutely secure assembly.
Will offer free, in-person delivery and installation for addresses within 2 hours of DC, with additional nominal fees for greater travel distances. (Note: I have undertaken delivery and installations as far from DC as California. This totem otherwise ships in two boxes, a tube for the totem, hardware, and installation instructions and a second box for the base plate.
Finally, a more detailed word about shipping. Shipping these pieces is expensive, both for the transit and for the time and materials that goes into the packaging. Although free shipping is offered for CONUS destinations, please know that the actual shipping costs are *very* significant at my end, especially in light of the ongoing fuel price increases associated with current events.
