Stone Holz Hausen Sculpture
Stone Holz Hausen Sculpture
This is a listing for an on-site build of a Holz Hausen stone sculpture. The Holz is a traditional German manner of both storing and curing firewood. It is a progressively stacked circular structure that creates a natural and effective updraft through its center to hasten the drying of the stored firewood.
This same structure can be adopted as a free-standing stone sculpture. Overall cost would generally start at $1,500, but would be dependent on anticipated size and availability/choice of stone and related quarry delivery costs.
The Holz pictured here is roughly eight (8) years old, built on uneven ground, and remains fully and impressively intact. It stands 42” tall and 42” wide at top and 55” wide at base, and required about 3000 pounds (one pallet) of Pennsylvania wall stone.
Please reach out to discuss if interested in this sculpture to coordinate on likely details and anticipated stone costs.
