Organically-derived solid Red Oak Bench for indoor or outdoor placement. Bench #3 is photographed and has been sold and placed with a buyer in Bethesda, MD. Made-to-Order Bench #4 will largely mirror the bench in these photographs, with the new bench starting out as a roughly 48”x25”x25” round of Maryland Red Oak (blank for #4 is pictured). Cut and shaped through use of chainsaw and Alaskan Saw Mill. Further cut and shaped with smaller saws and angle grinders. Finished with a Shou Sugi Ban (burned) treatment, Lindseed Oil, and multiple coats of Fine Paints of Europe Marine Varnish. Rubber feet for elevation off floor or outdoor surfaces. Bench will weigh about 300 pounds.
I currently have several excellent large lengths of red oak to serve as the starting palette and the resulting bench can be designed and shaped for free local delivery and installation within 2-3 hours of DC, with additional nominal fees for greater travel distances. (Note: I have undertaken delivery and installations as far from DC as California.
