Indoor-Outdoor Totem in Shou Sugi Ban and Linseed Oil finish, re-purposed mid-century modern 4x4 post. Custom indoor-outdoor base in marine plywood and heavy coats of Benjamin Moore stain and polyurethane, drilled for drainage. Totem stands roughly 76”x4.5”x3.5”. Box Base is roughly 16”x16”x3.5”.
Carved construction, including use of power and hand saws and grinders. Sanded then treated with live flame. The Shou Sugi Ban treatment and Linseed Oil finish ensure weatherproof lifespan. Weighs approximately 15 lbs without base. Base is designed to utilize stone for ballast— and I favor, as pictured, using black beach stone ($14/30lb. bag at Home Depot).
Will offer free, in-person delivery and placement for addresses within 3 hours of DC, with additional nominal fees for greater travel distances. The totem otherwise ships in two boxes, a tube for the totem and a box for the base, hardware, and installation instructions.
Finally, a more detailed word about shipping. Shipping these pieces is expensive, both for the transit and for the time and materials that goes into the packaging. Although free shipping is offered for CONUS destinations, please know that the actual shipping costs are significant at my end.
