Modular Totemic Sculpture, Painted and Stained, based on 2x4/2x6/2x8 Douglas Fir blanks. This sculpture and base are are designed for indoor or outdoor display. Outdoor installation is best accomplished through setting in concrete or, in many applications, by utilizing the included stained and sealed base. The sculpture stands roughly 65.5” tall and approximately 20” at its widest span. The 20” x 16” x 3.5” base can be filled with ballast (it is pictured with loose gravel and then black Ash Beach pebbles—$18/30 lb. bag at Home Depot) and it comes with adjustable feet to assist at arriving to a level stance on a hard outdoor surfaces or on floors and carpets indoors.
Construction arrived through use of a variety of power and hand saws and grinders. Sanded then treated with outdoor wood stain. The sculpture is modular in that it comes in ten separate pieces— including 2x8 and 2x6 body pieces, 2x4 arms and joints, as well as three sections of rebar— that all fit or bolt very easily together with existing fittings and hardware.
Will offer free, in-person delivery and placement for addresses within 3 hours of DC, with additional nominal fees for greater travel distances. However, this sculpture can also be safely and effectively shipped in two boxes, one 48” tube for the body pieces and a second box for the base, hardware, and detailed assembly and installation instructions.
Finally, a more detailed word about shipping. Shipping these pieces is expensive, both for the transit and for the time and materials that goes into the packaging. Although free shipping is offered for CONUS destinations, please know that the actual shipping costs are significant at my end.
